As regular readers of Reading With Jade will know, in the month of September I worked from a TBR of Roald Dahl books. I'm not usually one for set TBR's, as I mentioned in that post, however I did quite like working from a list of books, and so thought I'd give it a try for the rest of the autumn season.
This TBR isn't set in stone, just as with the Roald Dahl one, just because I've listed these books doesn't mean I HAVE to read all the books on the list. I'm going to be flexible with my TBR, and in many ways just use it as a guideline or for some reading inspiration every now and then.
All books listed below are books I currently own and are on my unread book shelf.
| AUTUMN TBR |
The Enchanted Wood by Enid Blyton
The Loney by Andrew Michael Hurley
My Grandmother Sends Her Regards And Apologises by Fredrik Backman
The Miniaturist by Jessie Burton
The Sisters by Claire Douglas
The Murders In The Rue Morgue And Other Tales by Edgar Allan Poe
Roseanna by Maj Sjöwall & Per Wahlöö
The Enchanted Wood by Enid Blyton
The Loney by Andrew Michael Hurley
My Grandmother Sends Her Regards And Apologises by Fredrik Backman
The Miniaturist by Jessie Burton
The Sisters by Claire Douglas
The Murders In The Rue Morgue And Other Tales by Edgar Allan Poe
Roseanna by Maj Sjöwall & Per Wahlöö
WHAT BOOKS DO YOU HOPE TO READ THIS AUTUMN?
I like to have a list of books to kind of choose from as well. Hope you enjoy the books you get to!
ReplyDeleteIt's good to have a guideline, especially when you're not too sure what to read. Thanks!
DeleteThe Miniaturist was really good! I listened to the audio earlier this year. I bought her new book, The Muse, for myself for my birthday. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat birthday present to yourself! I was going to buy The Muse recently, but then I thought I should probably finish the title on my shelf first!
DeleteGood luck with your TBR. The Miniaturist and the Poe stories are pretty good. The Loney and My Grandmother Send Her Regards are on my TBR list. Hopefully I’ll get to them someday.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Thanks! I've heard so many good things about Poe's writing - I've never explored it myself! I've briefly dipped into My Grandmother Sends Her Regards, and I'm intrigued to get reading.
DeleteThe Sisters looks good...and I have a copy of The Grandmother..., by Backman. I need to get to it soon!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your books! Thanks for visiting my blog.
So many books, so little time eh :-P I hope you enjoy them when you get round to them! Enjoy your current reads :-)
DeleteIt looks like you have a nice mix of books for October! I've been thinking about reading Backman..maybe next month I will give him a go.
ReplyDeleteThat cover for The Enchanted Wood - adorable.
Have a great week!
This is my first time reading Backman... I'm not too sure why I started with his second title when I'm very much aware of the previous, I think the plot of this one just spoke to me more, y'know.
DeleteI love this edition of The Enchanted Wood. There is actually a dustjacket on it that is not nearly as nice as the book 'naked'.
I hope you have a wonderful week, Erin!
I think that's a good way to do it. I don't like to box myself in too much but it is nice to have a short list to choose from, since I'm such a mood reader. I hope your reads are all good in October!
ReplyDeleteYes, my thoughts are exactly the same. A list is nice to have options, because sometimes I look at my shelves and I have no idea where to start! Thank you; happy reading in October!
DeleteThat is a really beautiful edition of The Enchanted Wood! Which reminds me, I've been meaning to look into that title since you first mentioned it :)
ReplyDeleteI agree - there is actually a dustjacket on this book, and it is quite different from the design underneath, surprisingly so!
DeleteInteresting! Is your Goodreads link to the edition you have? I never would have guessed that jacket would have that beautiful hardcover underneath!
DeleteYes, it is - I know, right?! I was quite surprised when I unveiled the 'naked' book; I much prefer that!
DeleteGreat list! I wish I could stick to a list - I'm sure going to try this time! I hope these are all great reads for you!
ReplyDeleteIt is hard too - I totally get that! Thanks; good luck with your TBR, you have some great titles on there.
