Recommended Reading | Read in 2018

With the new year now here (wishing you all a wonderful one), I thought I'd sit down and write my 'Recommended Reading' post. Last year was the first in which I concluded the year with a 'Recommended Reading' post, and which saw the introduction of a new page on my blog with the same name (you can see the tab above).

Many wrap up the year by sharing their favourites reads, or their top rated titles, understandably so, however my recommended reads aren't necessarily my absolute favourites from the year - but books that I read, enjoyed, and would recommend to others for a whole host of reasons; perhaps I enjoyed the message being put forward, found amazing world building, loved a strong character found within, or happily discovered a new favourite author. For one reason or another, I recommend these fourteen books to you!

All books are listed in order of when I read them, and all title links will take you to Goodreads

What book(s) did you read, enjoy, and would recommend, from 2018?

  1. I was so excited to find We Are All Made of Stars on Book Outlet last week! I had only found used copies from US sellerswhen I first looked for it (or ordering from Book Depository!) Definitely looking forward to that one :)

  2. I’m glad you liked all these! I liked A Thousand Perfect Notes, too. I haven’t read the others.

  3. Ok, I'm convinced to read Educated now! I was on the fence, but so many people raved about it. I'm glad you found some great books in 2018!

  4. I read and thoroughly enjoyed The Secret Keeper in 2018 and can definitely second that recommendation. I have Educated on my To Read list this year so I'm glad to see you enjoyed it enough to recommend it.

    1. Loved Educated - I was unsure about it myself, as it is such a hyped book, but well worth the hype for sure.

The Secret Keeper was such a wonderful read, and surprising also!

  5. This is a good list! I recommended Educated a lot too. I checked out Silence on your recommendation, but didn't get to read it before I had to return it to the library. Maybe I'll try again in 2019!

    1. Ah, that's such a shame - I hate when that happens with library borrows!

      Happy reading in 2019!

  6. I haven't read any of these but there are several titles I'm interested in. December was not my best reading month but hopefully January will be a bit better. Wishing you lots of great books in 2019!

  7. I'm such a huge Kate Morton fan, so I'm thrilled to see The Secret Keeper on this list. Just avoid her newest release (it was so disappointing). Any of her others are also gems though!

    1. I'm actually update to date on Kate Morton's releases now.

Only got round to reading The Clockmaker's Daughter this week... But totally get where you're coming from! It was good - but my reading experience was nowhere near the level of enjoyment as all her other books.
