In mid June I celebrated my birthday, and found myself kindly gifted some money/vouchers... Naturally I used those to treat myself to some books from my wishlist.
I don't often buy myself books nowadays (using the library as much as possible), especially not brand new books like I have here (I've become more of a second hand buyer over the last couple of years), so this definitely felt like a birthday treat.
I purchased eight books from my wishlist and look forward to reading these over the coming months.

Happy birthday! I really liked Endurance.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Thanks!
DeleteAnd that is great to hear - I'm hoping to get round to that book in A/W.
Great books! I can't believe I never heard of The Outermost House; I think I'd love it. I also want to read more Agatha Christie.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard of The Outermost House until this year, and just knew I had to have it after I discovered it - I read it last week and it proved to be a wonderful read. I'd recommend!
DeleteExcellent selections! My 92-year-old father-in-law says The Outermost House is his favorite book...and rereads it every year. Of course, Cape Cod is one of his favorite spots, too. Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteI went straight in, reading The Outermost House last week, and I can see why it would be a favourite book of his, especially with a love of Cape Cod. It definitely felt like a rereadable book too.
DeleteThank you!
Independent People, The Fortnight in September and Journey to the River Sea are definitely all amazing in their different ways.
